1947 Dickerson Amp | Pre-Magnatone
Переглядів 1,4 тис.3 роки тому
In this video, Eric demonstrates a pre-Magnatone 1947 Dickerson. These amps may not have much juice, but they are a great tool to get a classic sound that won't break the bank. Greenchild | Thresher Overdrive
Переглядів 1,1 тис.3 роки тому
In this video, Eric takes a peek at the Thresher Overdrive from Greenchild Effects. This pedal is based off the Marshall Bluesbreaker, a classic, transparent overdrive, but with some modern tweaks to wring out every ounce of performance from this circuit. correction: the tremolux does not have a mid control
Such a good lesson. Thank you so much.
This dude likes guitars and guns just like me:)
I just bought a '67 Pro Reverb today. Amazing amp.
Very cool lesson, well done !
I could have sworn up & Down you are a 2A channel guy. I am not just going to come out and say it. Are you?? I like you guitar & amp choices as well. Thank you great video.
lmfao why is Princess Peach in Blackface? hahahahaha
Great review! I have one just like it, also from 1960. My number one guitar. ❤
Damn fine playing and demo! And that’s you warming up! 👊🏽
I got my TR-X Tremelo used in excellent condition for £95...I also bought the phaser and the 30th anniversary ODR which sounds amazing. I don't have the original 90s ODR, but I did buy the bass cut and the none bass cut pedal...I'm after the 10th and 20th anniversary pedals now... Nice demo bud...
love the idea for bass-slick!
Crap mate, really crap
Thinking about picking up one. Nice playing Eric!
Superb. What a great video. These are such good amps! That fully cranked sound wasn't a million miles away from the Hendrixy, Voodoo Chile, Bassman thing, especially if it had a Strat put into it, obvs. The one thing I couldn't get over though was the pickups in that Tele....can't believe they are rail pickups - sounds more like a proper Tele than a proper Tele does. Great playing too, I could've watched/listened to this all day.
Looks like a JLD bridge doctor was installed. Not surprising on an old 12 string at concert pitch. Should now be good for years.
Thank you… nice overview video.
intro sounds like Roy Buchanan playing led zepplin.
Hold up isnt this iraqveteran?
Just got one of these at a yard sale. Haven't had the chance to play it myself as its not strung up and needs a setup badly, but this is the best demo on youtube regarding this guitar! Thank you.
THE sound of classic Motown music in 1962. This amp's circuit being halfway between a tweed and blackface amp.
R u recording this on an empty roll of paper towels?
Hi guys. What about the selector switch on that area of the guitar? Does it bother your right hand when you´re using a strap and on your feet? I guess that depends on each player but your perspectives would be appreciated.
Is this available for sale? I love the discoloration on the head. You sound great on that thing!
Says he’s “Not a Rock player” while shredding like Angus :)
She sounded good when you wound that bridge out on her.
Noticed Shakira's Mongoose tour guitarists using old vintage Fender Amps and sound great.
Dude this is the BP model not the tweed. There is a BP one as well.
Guy I been watching IV8888 for...since I researched some tools. I always dug the Fender hat (no flat brim!!!) but I searched after GASsing on a Klone and here you are! I am extremely late to this party. Love you, man!
A guy locally is selling the same head, same year. It’s a screaming deal and I may go snatch it up this weekend. I play pop-punk/emo/rock and run my current rig through a Silverface Bassman. Been thinking about having a backup amp for a while but I may end up using it as my main thing. Great tones out of this, dude. Respect!
Sounds out of phase. Is that jumped Daisey chained. If so that's why
Pretty informative video, Thanks for sharing Eric!
Where can I get good quality rebuild kits for vintage speakers?
Thanks for sharing. I just bought a vintage 1963 Fender Vibro Champ amp. It sounded great at the store on low volume when I tested it. I got it home and played through it for about 1/2 hour, and it started sounding like the one in your video. Immediately, I started freaking out, thinking the tubes were bad, or the circuit had something wrong. I am going to run some wires to another speaker to see what happens. That's an easy test.
I agree about it being bad filter caps get it fixed a s a p that is a gym so that amp sounds amazing
Gootgawd!!! Puttin that Stank on it son!!!
Dude, love what you are doing.
The description of primary voltage control seemed unclear and clipped
I have a 1967 BandMaster Silverface with the great AB763 circuit. It's paired with a small Marshall 1965A cabinet with 4x10" Celestion G10L-35 speakers. It's got a beautiful sound with a full low end. The closed-back cabinet makes a difference from the open-backed Fender combo amps. Thanks!
How crap I have been watching your gun channel for years never knew you played too!
Love my varsity reverb...
That treble pickup tone is worth a zillion !
vibrato pedal needs to be plugged in on these older guys to work i believe. Its the case on my 65 pro reverb. I was sweating at first when it wasnt working lmao!
Love mine. One minor issue with it though: it struggles with unity gain even with the Level dimed. I asked Kai Tachibana if he recalled that being an issue and he said not in his experience; he actually designed it to have more than unity gain. So *shrug I noticed in your video you have the Level dimed also.. maybe just an impedance issue with my other pedals in chain. Oh I found out that there's a trim pot inside you can fiddle with that adjusts the bias on the optical cell.
T-Bone Walker'ish crossover with modern Blues Rock phrasing ?
New subscriber here in East Tennessee... You are an excellent guitarist. It is obvious you play a lot. You know your chords. I dig chords. I have been playing 52 years and your playing reminds me of mine. Cheers!
Fantastic sound!
I have this pedal I think it’s very bright / trebley
Damn, that is some great tone. I may need one of these.
My Fav Tremolo went i want a vibey trem. if i need want one for more of a rythmic part i use either the one on my MS3 or HX Stomp but this thing sounds so good for certain things. keep up the love for the nobels. i love me and starting to collect a few. getting more popular now.
I just picked up a 65 Pro Reverb yesterday. Such a killer amp. I had a 68 back in the 90's. Equally awesome.
